Who we are
A Movement to Create a New Kind of Party Across Europe for a More Humane World
The European Idealist Movement e.V. was founded as a German association at the dawn of the vernal Spring Equinox 2023 in the geographical centre of the European Union (near Gadheim/Germany). Our main goal is the creation of humanist political parties of a new type for Europe, taking liberal democracy to the next level to address the crises in security, climate/environment and extreme social inequality.
We are in the process of founding the first political party called “European Idealists” in Germany, which intends to participate in the elections to the European Parliament in 2024 and the elections to the German Bundestag in 2025.
At the same time, we want to expand the movement and the new type of political parties to other EU countries.
Our fundamental value is humanism, i.e. human life, human dignity, human rights and freedoms, and human (pursuit of) happiness. We believe that the conditions for the fulfilment of these values must be promoted and protected.
We believe that the key dimensions to achieve these values are security, climate/environment and reducing extreme social inequality.
In addition, we have 2 key cross-cutting themes:
* Good governance
* Pro-Europeanism (further European unification into a federal European state).

Why a new party?
Decisive action on 3 key issues and 2 cross-cutting issues is probably not possible fast enough with already existing parties: → A new kind of party is needed = European Idealists.
What makes the European Idealists a new kind of party?
Unique features of the European Idealists:
* Party for idealists only
Selective, multi-stage selection process for members to include
to admit only idealistic, altruistic personalities who primarily want to
serve the common good and avoid psychopaths/sociopaths,
exclude narcissists and opportunists from the outset.
Focus on quality, not quantity of membership.
* Mission mainstreaming
Party members’ activities in the party should always serve our stated aims & purposes and not be counterproductive or harmful
* Permanent expert government / professionals only.
We require all government members to have at least 5 years of expertise and/or advanced training in the field in which they will work
* Maximum separation of powers between parliament and government (Montesquieu):
Party members may not belong to any government (exception: parliamentary secretaries of state) and government members must be non-party members.
* Psychological and neurological examination required for candidates for high government offices:
They must undergo two psychological assessments and a brain scan to rule out psychopaths and sociopaths as much as possible.
* Mentoring and leadership development
We want to build a Dream Team in the party, in parliaments and in government and therefore strive for competence and genuine leadership, which takes precedence over seniority and regional representation.
* Our own quota system with blocks of 4 with 50% women and 25% migrants/PoC quota.
* 80% new entrant quota for parliamentary lists in each election cycle.
* No participation in local elections:
Real focus on what matters most to our core values, 3 core dimensions and 2 cross-cutting issues, i.e. we only contest state, federal and European elections.
* Zero tolerance for corruption
* Progressive membership fees
* General assemblies instead of delegate system
* No youth organisation
